Fellowship-Trained Orthopedic Shoulder Surgeon

Scott Vizzi, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in the operative and non-operative treatment of shoulder, knee, and hip conditions. His practice includes large joint reconstruction, arthroscopy, and sports-related injuries.

Dr. Vizzi earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan before completing medical school at Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Saint Louis University Hospital and the University of Kansas, where he also participated in dedicated research.

Following residency, Dr. Vizzi completed an Orthopedic Total Joints and Sports Fellowship at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. His fellowship training included large joint reconstruction, advanced arthroscopy, soft tissue repair, independent general call coverage, and sports team coverage.

Dr. Vizzi has served as an orthopedic surgeon with Alexander Orthopedic Associates in St. Petersburg, Florida since 2019. His clinical focus includes both surgical and non-surgical treatment of shoulder, knee, and hip conditions.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Vizzi has participated in team coverage for multiple athletic organizations, including the Toronto Blue Jays (currently), Washington Redskins, Wichita State University, Wichita Thunder Men’s Hockey, Wichita Force Arena Football, Randolph Macon College, Deep Run High School, and Goochland High School.

He has contributed to orthopedic research through peer-reviewed publications and presentations at regional and national conferences.

Dr. Vizzi is board-certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and maintains active medical licensure in Florida. He is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine.
